Jewish Community Security, Inc. was established to provide a safe, secure environment for our Metropolitan Detroit Jewish communal buildings and properties.

Members of our security team have been working to keep the Detroit Jewish Community safe since 2006. We collaborate closely with our partner agencies, community agencies, and local and national law-enforcement entities. Our highly-trained and experienced officers are stationed at Jewish Day Schools, office buildings, camps, and campuses throughout the community.

Our team assists Jewish institutions across the community by providing consultation, education, and training to instill a culture of vigilance and safety. The safety and well-being of the Detroit Jewish Community is our number one priority.

Federation’s Community Security Plan includes:

In total, the Federation is responsible for protecting a community of roughly 80,000 Jewish people spread across 183 square miles and more than 17 distinct Jewish organizations that occupy almost 1,200 apartments, camp buildings, recreational spaces, school spaces and administrative offices. The Federation’s constituent agency building alone consist of more than 2.6 million square feet of physical space. The Federation also protects 45 synagogues, which are often sought out by those who would seek to harm the Jewish community.

Jewish Community Security, Inc. works to ensure the safety of our communal building and properties, and assists Jewish institutions across the community in their safety and security efforts.

Jewish Community Security, Inc. consists of a team of highly-trained security officers who collectively bring years of law enforcement and military background and experience.  Members of the team have been serving the Detroit Jewish Community since 2006.

In addition to the presence of our trained security officers, we employ a variety of state-of-the-art technologies and protocols to provide ongoing preventive measures as well as rapid crisis response.
